About The Founder
Demajeo’s Basketball Career
Demajeo Wiggins grew up in the Springfield area just outside Toledo, Ohio. From an early age, basketball wasn't just a hobby — it was a language, a discipline, and eventually, a ticket to places most people only see on a map. What started on the courts of Northwest Ohio would take him across three continents and into nine countries over the course of a professional career that most athletes only dream of.
Before the Pros
Demajeo's journey started where it starts for most kids — in a high school gym, putting in work and figuring out who he was as a player and a person. He took that foundation to Bowling Green State University, where he continued to develop his game and prepare for the next level. BGSU didn't just sharpen his skills — it built the discipline and mindset that would carry him through years of professional competition around the world.
Year One — United States
Right out of college, Demajeo landed in the NBA G League with the Greensboro Swarm. The G League is one of the most competitive developmental leagues in the world, and earning a spot there straight out of BGSU was no small thing. It was his first real taste of professional basketball — and proof that the next level was exactly where he belonged.
Year Two — Czech Republic & Estonia
His first move overseas took him to the Czech Republic, where he began learning what it really means to be a professional athlete in a foreign country — new language, new culture, new everything. That same year, he made his way to Estonia, adding another chapter to a career that was quickly becoming a world tour. He also competed in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) that summer, staying sharp and staying hungry between seasons.
Year Three — Bulgaria
Year three took Demajeo to Bulgaria, continuing his run through European professional basketball. Each country brought a new league, a new team, and a new set of challenges — and each one made him a more complete player and a more adaptable person. The ability to walk into a new environment and perform is a skill that goes well beyond basketball, and Bulgaria was another place where that muscle got stronger.
Year Four — Hungary
Hungary was next. By this point, Demajeo had played in enough countries to understand something most people never get the chance to learn — that the world is much bigger than where you started, and that you're capable of more than you imagined when you were growing up in Toledo. He kept competing, kept growing, and kept going.
Year Five — Germany & Spain
Year five brought two more countries in a single season. He started in Germany before finishing the year in Spain — two of the most competitive basketball markets in all of Europe. Playing in multiple leagues within the same season requires a level of professionalism and resilience that only the best can sustain. Demajeo did exactly that.
Year Six — Greece, China & Croatia
His sixth professional year was his most traveled. Greece, China, and Croatia — three countries, three different basketball cultures, all in one season. From the intensity of Greek professional basketball to the massive scale of the Chinese league to Croatia, Demajeo closed out his playing career the same way he lived it: all in, everywhere.
Year Seven to be continued in Germany.
Back Where It Started
Demajeo is still playing — but somewhere along the way, something shifted. The more of the world he saw, the more he thought about home. Because the truth nobody talks about enough is that life isn't all about sports, and when that chapter ends, it can feel like the ground disappears underneath you. He's seen it. He's felt it. And he didn't want to wait until he was done playing to do something about it. Maj's Mission is his way of giving back to Toledo now — so that the next generation of young athletes knows who they are beyond the game before they ever have to find out the hard way.
